2020 Yearly Summary

By Gustaf Nilsson

As we summarize 2020 it’s easy to say that this has been a most unusual year. A global pandemic has in many ways turned the world of education upside down and the challenges that we all have faced this year have been many. It’s mighty impressive to see the way that schools and educational organizations have adapted to these new circumstances and how teachers and students continue to use, sometimes new, digital learning tools such as DigiExam.

Over 1 million handed-in exams

When we look at the usage stats we can see that this fall the total number of written exams in our system has increased by over 30% compared to last year and reached over 1 million hand-ins for the period August – December. Proof to us that DigiExam’s used widely by teachers for all types of exams, tests and assignments.

To follow such a fast transition from a traditional on-campus- based form of teaching into a remote/hybrid learning environment among schools and educational institutions has made us even more impressed by all you fantastic users out there.

At DigiExam we’ve been trying to listen to and help you as much as we possibly can by developing our product to better suit your needs.

Remote examination tools

With new features such as Remote Proctoring, which helps you with an automated monitoring process for remote exams, and our External Tools which gives you the possibility to add other online learning tools of your choice to an exam in DigiExam, we’ve taken important steps towards making our product more flexible and opening up new areas of use. This is an ever ongoing process since we believe that the need for a reliable and easy to use platform for both on-campus and remote exams is here to stay.

But we haven’t only been focusing on the things that are seen by the naked eye. Apart from the pandemic, 2020 has also posed new challenges for us as a provider of digital exams. We’ve been trying to be one step ahead of laws and legislations in order to meet the future demands of how we store and handle your data. Therefore we’ve been moving away from US sub-processors for our European customers to ensure that we meet any future requirements. Based on your feedback we’ve also spent much time and development on the foundations of our product so that we in the future can offer you an even better experience than you already have.

2020 is soon coming to an end and all of us at DigiExam are looking forward to continuing our journey into 2021!
