The Digiexam Student App
Spring 2025 marked the launch of the new Digiexam Student App for Windows and Mac devices. With a complete redesign, an entirely new code base and an even stronger lockdown technology it's easier for staff and students to work with digital assessments.

What's New
We're happy to inform that the new student app is supported on Macbooks, Windows x86_64 and, now, Windows ARM devices! Our app redesign includes some great new features listed below. Take time to review them and if you want to talk about them or future improvements feel free to reach out to us!
Split Screen
External tools and media improvements can now also be viewed side-by-side to the corresponding question and answer
Accessibility
Automatic activation of spell check if allowed for students in assignments
Improved audio file experience (user interface design, selection of files & navigation through audio files)
Timed assignments now stop the timer upon hand-in and begin with the correct time if a student is allowed to re-enter at a later date
USB Features
USB hand-in flow improvements to reduce steps for start, stop and restart of assignments with USB
USB extended time configuration improvements where minutes may be added to timed exams directly via USB
Installation & Deployment
MSI files will now deploy device wide and no longer requires an elevated administrator permission level to run on a non-administrator account for Windows x86 and Windows ARM devices.
Mac devices can download and install the application normally. For optimal experience, please ensure that the Digiexam app is located in your apps folder.
Remote Proctoring
Remote proctoring functionalities have been added into the new student applications for Windows devices. The Macbook application will soon receive the same improvements.
User interface improvements and flow for video, screen and audio equipment checks (predominantly for Remote Proctoring services)
Security
Other updates to the new application include improved security and monitoring functionalities of advanced hotkey blocking, the rollback of device operations and functions to the pre-exam launch state, clipboard blocking and improved monitoring of application events through our database.
A fresh install or deployment of the new application on student devices will make sure that any new launches of the app get the latest updates and install them immediately on student devices. Any new installation on Windows devices will include an initial user account challenge, and afterwards running and autoupdating will allow any user to run Digiexam.
The legacy student application can still be used, but will be sunset (discontinued) on the 30th of June, 2025 ensuring that students use the latest and most secure version of the application.
